Couples Garden
The Couple's Garden is a relationship
enrichment series of special "Date Nights" offering participants
the opportunity to explore and nurture their relationship.
It begins at Clairmont this fall!
If you have kids, they will enjoy "Movie Night" with the
children's ministry during the Couple's Garden.
When:
Friday, November 6, 2009. (2010 dates TBA)
6:00pm - Drop kids off; enjoy snacks and the fellowship
of other couples
6:15pm - Todd and Beverly Sandel from LifeGate
Counseling Center (lifegatecenter.org). They will offer an interactive
marriage enrichment session.
7:15pm - Dine with your spouse at the restaurant
of your choice
9:15pm - Pick up children
Why should we attend? The danger to most
marriages today is not serious problems but lack of nourishment.
Many couples have good intentions to attend to their relationship
but discover those intentions fall prey to demands of family, work,
social commitments, and even over-scheduled church commitments.
By attending The Couple's Garden evenings, couples set aside time
to spend together and receive up-to-date information on how to develop
and maintain strong and healthy couple relationships.
Why is it called 'The Couple's Garden?' In
many ways, love in marriage is like a garden. When you attend carefully
to a garden - thoughtful pruning, regular watering, careful feeding,
periodic weeding - it will grow into a place that provides beauty,
satisfaction and pleasure. If the garden is neglected, it will dry
up and become an unpleasant, unproductive place. The same principle
holds true in marriages. We hope that Couples Garden will be a place
for you and your spouse to be proactive in tending to and nurturing
your marriage.
How much does it cost? One evening is $10
per couple which covers the snacks, childcare, and speaker. Following
the speaker, couples are on their own for dinner at the restaurant
of their choice.
