Testimony from Azalea Village
Living in Azalea Village has given my husband, Josh, and me first hand experience in living out our mission day to day. Because Josh is completing his Masters in Divinity at Candler School of Divinity, we were offered the opportunity to live in House 2 (a home reserved for seminary families). Over the past year, we have been up close and personal with Azalea Village residents. Our weeks are filled with birthday dinners, game nights, and helping with resumes. When we look outside, we see a teacher from Clairmont Church tutoring children in the village; we see church members bringing by donations of furniture for the new families; we see children ride their bikes around and around in the safety of our back yard. We get to know the stories of the AVM families, putting a face to the reality of poverty in our community and in our world. At the same time, we watch the progress families make with the love and support of Azalea Village Ministries. What a blessing it has been to be a small part of what God is doing in this village.
