Our Mission Partners
In 2006 LaAmistad became a 501(c)(3) non-profit to provide exceptional educational and life-enrichment services to children and their families. Today LaAmistad has grown into a holistic program that includes afterschool tutoring, parent education, English for Successful Living classes, and summer enrichment activities.
Every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, La Amistad students fill our community building, and CPC volunteers are there to tutor them. Each July we collect donations and fill backpacks with everything on each student's school supply list, and twice a year we throw a party to celebrate them. We support La Amistad with a monthly gift and worship together in a bilingual service: one family, two languages.
The mission of Lady T's Homeless Ministry is to supply physical and spiritual nutrition to the less fortunate individuals that live on the streets, in the parks, behind alleys, in the woods and those that have found a place in the battered women, children, and men shelters. Our objective is to give them the basic necessities of life to lift them up and encourage them.
Every month, CPC members make sandwiches for Lady T to share with neighbors in need. We help put together snack bags, collect seasonal items, host her annual fish fry, and support her work with a monthly financial contribution. Lady T's invitation always stands: anyone is welcome to join her in feeding our neighbors.
Toco Hills Community Alliance was founded in 1998 by a group of faith communities to provide emergency assistance to neighbors in need. The organization became a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit agency serving the Northeast Atlanta are. We currently operate a food pantry, community kitchen, and clothing closet.
We provide a monthly financial contribution, donate used grocery bags, collect shelf-stable food, and raise funds throughout the year. Each December we host a benefit concert for THCA, and for the Hunger Walk, we walk from our doors to theirs and back again. Two CPC members serve on THCA's Board, and others volunteer every week.
